My 6 grade effort

1. What piece of work/ assignment and learning are you most proud? Explain.
Since I came here in January and this was my first year at an international school, and I didn't know what they were expecting from me. My first work was terrible but after that I learnt what I should do and my work was getting much better.
I think my best piece of work is the Travel Agency Assignment, we were working in groups at the end of the year and the grade at over work were 101/100 so I am very proud because I have never get more than 100 before!

2. What were your greatest challenges? Explain.
My greatest challenges were the literature circles. I didn't know what it was and I did never get a A+, I asked what it was and I did get a explanation. But my challenge was to write a paragraph about something important in the chapters and than find a question you needed to think about and the answer wasn't i the book also a question wich wasn't about your paragraph.

3. Reflecting on your growth this year, what did you learn about yourself as a learner?
Reflecting on my growth this year I did learn about my self that I were very organized I didn't had so much homework at my old school, but when I came here I hav shown mys elf that I am very organized my homework is done on time and I will never give up.

4. To evaluate your work habits, choose 1 of the following from each category ( and provide explanations):
a) Behavior

Could be improved
Satisfactory
Perfect - the model student

Explanation: I chose satisfactory because I don't think I am perfect but not the worst, of course could it been improved but I think I am higher than that.

b) Participation

None
Satisfactory
Actively participate in class

Explanation: I am doing my work on time and use so much I can on my work at school so I dosen't need to do it at home as homework. But I am not actively participate in class because I am not the one wich talks allot in class.

c) Organization

Needs serious help
Satisfactory
I'm super organized

Explanation: As I have wrote allot about I am very organized, and I think you have get it. But as I have wrote I can't come to class without done my homework if I have not done my homework I have forgot it or my Norwegian homework took a while. But that will just happend sometimes or not at all, I am doing my homework and I am suing my time in class.

d) Effort

Needs serious help
Satisfactory
I always go above and beyond what is required.

Explanation:  I am trying to do my work at class so I dosen't need to do it at home. I dosen't like homework but if I have homework I am doing my best my grades isn't always A+, but I am doing my best.

5. Based upon your reflections, write two personal learning goals for Grade 7 next year.

Goal 1 - In Grade 7, I plan to make sure my English will be much better and I will go to higher intermediate. Because I wanna have a grade in Humanities so I can see were I am. I also wanna come to higher intermediate so I can go out of EAP after that.

Goal 2 - In Grade 7, I plan to  improve my speaking and reading I love to read and I am doing it often, I reads english books and I understands them really well but some sentences is hard for me to understand to next year I will be better I will understand much more.
I am listening very much and understand what they means, but when somebody ask me I answer them but not so good -this will I improve on! After I have answered them I am thinking about how I could answer better. It is only to not to think so the good answers will came out instand.

6.Is there any more information about yourself that you would like the teachers to know?
I like to read, but I can't read a book out on two days... I also like to be creative. And I am not the one who talks allot in class.

7. Finally, cast your minds back to the first few months of middle school (when you arrived in Grade 6 ) what "Words of Wisdom" or "Advice" could you pass on to the Class of 2019?
Be organized so you can complete your homework in time, also try to do so much you can do in class so you can do other things when you get home.

Malaysia Week 2012 -Suriver Paradise

On Malaysia Week 2012, I went to Pulau Sibu. Pulau Sibu was a survive paradise trip, and we learnt to make shelter, make our own food, make fire, and fishing. We learnt all these activities so we could survive on a survive island. It was very fun. The last day we were dropped on a little island,  two groups had to survive by themselves, on the differente side on the island. So in what way did I Collaborate Constructively, Live Ethically, Communicate Effectively, and Think Creatively?

On Pulau Sibu they were recycling, and they loved the nature, the SLR I will talk about is Live Ethically. They wanted to take care of the nature. They didn't like that people was throwing the rubbish into the sea. Every day on the resort the staff was taking away the rubbish from the beach, the rubbish came from cities. We were walking on a trip to an Malaysian School, on the way we were walking beside the sea, on many beaches it was much rubbish. This shows that the rubbish from the cities sometimes will come into the sea, and when it has come to the sea it will go to the ocean, and the ocean will bring it to a beach, no matter who far away. So it is very important to take care of the earth and trough the rubbish into an rubbish container. An other good example on live ethically is that after breakfast, lunch and dinner two of us (changed every day)  were suppose to take the plates, glasses and the food left into the kitchen, they said we should take the food into the food rubbish and the forks and knifes into a bowl of water and stable the plains.  This shows that there is someone who recycle,  and it is very important to recycle. We like our earth so we should recycle, reuse and reduce, people on resorts will have so much work only because people don't recycle. We weren't always on journeys, we were also learning new things. Some other SLR we used on Malaysia Week is Collaborate Constructively and Communicate Effectively.

We learnt how to make shelter on Pulau Sibu. The SLR's we used than is Collaborate Constructively and Communicate Effectively. We leaned allot and we was getting many complement for a good and pretty shelter, we was also finish before the other team and before the teams who was there the year before. First was we looking when the staff did it, they used palm leaves and sticks. After the staff had done there shelter, we should make the shelter. The staff had found that we needed to make the shelter so we could start right away. We was helping each other so the work was finish very fast. When we was finish the other team was still working on theme's shelter, we had some sticks with leaves left, so we was decorating over shelter. I think we was finish before them because off we was working hard together, teamwork, but they was maybe not so good to work together as a team. So the SLR I think will be good to this activity is Collaborate Constructively. I also think Communicate Effectively is important to this activity because if we didn't talk we couldn't done over work so fast, and maybe we hadn't  done over shelter at all.  Another SLR I used on Malaysia Week is Think Creatively.

On the last day, at survive paradise we needed to think creatively. We was thinking creatively when we was making the SOS sine and when we was looking after some materials to make the shelter, we also thought creatively when we was building the structure of the shelter.
First when we came to survive island we was making a SOS since. We used things we found on the beach, after we had made the form of the SOS we was making it more clearly with green leaves. We needed to think creatively to find witch materials to make the SOS since of.
After we had made the SOS sine we started finding wood to a fire. So some people started making food, rest of us started making the structure of the shelter. We made it solid and big, we had found and old big bamboo so we could made the shelter of. It was very important to Think Creatively when we was building the structure of the shelter because we needed to make the shelter solid and big, and a place you could stay in shade, all these things was we thinking on and we made it. If we didn't think creatively when we was building the shelter maybthe shelter had fallen and maybit was to small so we couldn't be inside. After we had made the structure of the shelter we was walking to find some leaves to the wall so we could have some shade it was very important to have shade, because it was so hot outside so we will be so tired. We was Thinking Creatively when we was finding leaves, because on Pulau Sibu we had got some palm leaves to build the shelter with, but we hadn't allow to climb up to an palm to get  leaves, so we needed to find some other kind of leaves. And to find leaves we needed to think where we could fine huge leaves. We found allot of difference leaves so we could make the shelter finish.

to: my parents and all the other guys in Wherton

You have now become Will , you are triumphant and have reached the White Mountains. You decide to write a letter to your family and the citizens of Wherton telling them about your journey. A successful letter will explain: • Explain what you now understand that convinced you to leave to leave Wherton. • What you have learned about society and life, the importance of freedom and choice. Use specific examples from the text to support your ideas.

Key: In my letter I have written this when it is from the book: hgfhffjdhhh

Dear mum and dad and all the other people who read my letter,
How are you? I hope you are fine.
I am all right. Dont worry about me.

I was leaving because I don't wanted to be capped. When you been capped, you give your freedom away. You will have no hope, no freedom, you can't do what you want. Do you want somebody else to control you? -I wanted to control my self. Think self, and do what I think is right. I don't want to be capped thats why I leaved.
Have you sometimes thought about the ruins? Who lived there? And what it was to? -I have, the people who lived there had done all thing self. They was not controlled about somebody else, so they could be creative. They made things which will help them self or have it fun. That was the old time. Why now? All the persons have one thing they are good at, if we all are together of one thing we can do that we want. We could have a wonderful world. But now... We have a world, full of tripods, the people who live here is controlled  of some the people  don't know is. Tripods, the people's master. Tripods, the machine, who has made the earth terrible. Do you want them to control you? When you can choose self what do you wants to do
Jack said to me, when he still was a boy who not have been capped, yet. About the ruins: "Do you remember," he asked "four years ago, when I went to stay with my Aunt Matilda?" I remembered. She was his aunt, not mine, even though we were cousins: she had married a foreigner. Jack said, "She lives at Bishopstoke, on the other side of Winchester. I went out there one day, walking, and I came to the sea. There were the ruins of a city that must been twenty times as big as Winchester." I knew of the ruined great -cities of the ancients, of course. But these, too, were little talked of, and then with disapproval and shade of dread. No one would dream of going near them. It was disquieting even to think of looking at one, as Jack had done. Before we had talked about watches.

I need to go, bye. With love,
Will
Ps! We will save you guys!

How will Beanpole help Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains ?

During this weeks reading for Lit. Circle, you were introduced to the character "ZHANPOLE"(Beanpole).
He is an unusual character; he wears glasses, speaks English and is ready to join Henry and Will on their journey to the White Mountains.
In a well structured response ( minimum two paragraphs), please answer the following question:-

How will Beanpole help Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains?

I think Zhanpole is a boy who knows what he has to do, so I think he will help Will and Henry very good on the journey.  Zhanpole is very smart and clever; he has learned himself to speak English from a book.  Zhanapole has also a knowledge of the area, so he will know better than Henry and Will where they can go, of course.  An example from the book/The White Mountains (Page 72 ): We came to a crossroads not long after restarting the journey, and I was once more made aware of our luck in finding him. I would have taken the road south, but he chose west. "Because of the..." What he said sounded like 'Shamand-Fair. "I do not know your name for it". "What is it?" Henry asked. "It is too hard to explain, I think. You will see".
So Beanpole knows the area, and I believe  Will and Henry can trust him.

If they will come in a problem with some person from the country, Beanpole can speak their language.  I think also Beanpole can help Will and Henry with learn them his lanuage. So if Will is alone or Henry is alone or Beanpole is not there and somebody from the country come and ask them/he a question, and they/he can't answer, they will give them/he to the Tripods. So I think the will be smart if Beanpole learn them his lanuage, which I think is French. I think also Beanpole can help Will and Henry if he can read French for them, so if the is a important letter or something they know what the is written there. Beanpole can help if he learn them to write french.

Beanpole is allso a wery creative person. An example in the novel (page 71): He had noticed that hot air rises, and had filled a pig's bladder with steam from a kettle and seen it go up to the ceiling. So he had tried making a big balloon out of oilskin and fixing it to a platform with a braizer under the opening, hoping it would rise into the sky; but nothing happened. Abother idea that had not worked out had been for putting springs on the endsof stilts-he had broken a leg the previous year trying that one out. I think he also can help with to find a good plan to something.

How is Will just like me?

So far you've read 2 chapters of The White Mountains and discussed it in your first literature circles group. We really hope you are enjoying your time reading the story, and we know that stories are more interesting if you can make a personal connection. So, in that spirit, write a brief 3 paragraph blog post answering the following question:

How is Will just like you?

Will (my meaning)
In the beginning of the story: Will steal the clock from his father, disobedient, and he wants to be like the others and get their approval. He is not so popular, and he is neither very interested in the others.
To begin with Will is immature. not so sure of him self and depended of other to help him, like jack. Will is a bit egocentric and often ends up in a fight
After the capping of Jack: He starts to reflects. He begins to be afraid of the Tripods which will steal his free will. After the capping of Jack he runs away, even though he knows he will never see his mother and father again. So Will has very much courage and determination. Will is curious, because longer back in the history (present, I think) there was another civilization, more modern. Will is very curious about that.

Not Like me (my meaning)
I am not a person who things stupid things about other people and I believe I am not so egocentric like Will. And I know I am not so tough as him. I think it takes a lot of courage to run away from home, no matter.

Me like Will (my meaning)
Even if I think that Will is not a lot like me we have something in common. If I lived at his time, I think I would be very curious on the old time. I know I am Courage on things, but not at all like Will who runs away from his home. I don’t think I could do that, but I have courage. And like Will I think I am determined. It also scares me to lose my free will.
